They are looking for both undergraduate and graduate students and, get this, the pay ranges from $2,500-$5,500 per month! These days, it’s hard to find a full-time job that pays that well!

Job Title: Summer Internships available to either undergraduate or graduate students who will report into to Director, Corporate Communications and Media Relations, Director, Internal Communications or Director, International Government Relations, at The Coca-Cola Company, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Position Description: These internships are based in Atlanta, working in the Company’s Worldwide Public Affairs and Communications (WWPAC) function, with specific interns reporting into:
- Corporate Communications and Media Relations,
- Internal Communications, and
- Government Relations.
WWPAC’s primary responsibility is to protect and enhance the reputation and image of the Company and its brands, through relationships and communication with key constituencies, including the media, governments, non-governmental organizations and other members of civil society. WWPAC is seeking candidates for summer internships, beginning in June 2009. These roles will provide broad exposure to the diverse strategic issues and opportunities facing global consumer goods companies. These issues might include corporate social responsibility, stakeholder engagement, corporate/NGO strategy, environment, diversity, health & wellness and global aging. Interns will work closely with one or two project teams over the course of the summer, and will be responsible for producing a significant and concrete analytical output that contributes to the overall project’s goals.
Position Requirements: Preference is for Interns in a current or recently-completed MBA or equivalent graduate student; however other fields of study – undergraduate or graduate – will certainly be given appropriate consideration. The intern must have strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a familiarity of business strategy in the consumer goods business. In addition, the intern must be intellectually flexible and creative, have excellent written and oral communication abilities, and be competent in project/task prioritization. Strong interpersonal skills, high energy and enthusiasm, and computer literacy are also essential.
The following requirements for the specific internships:
Corporate Communications and Media Relations: Seek an individual with a working knowledge of newsroom operations (print, broadcast and web). Candidate must have strong writing skills, the ability to develop media lists and editorial calendars. Also, must understand the attitudes and concerns of community, consumers, employees, and public interest groups and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with them and with representatives from print and broadcast journalism. Desired skills sets include the ability to spot trends in news coverage, manage editorial calendars, identify appropriate gatherings of media at which the Company should have a presence and possess basic information gathering techniques to facilitate informed responses to media inquiries.
Internal Communications: Seek an individual skilled in journalistic writing. Candidate must be able to write quickly but accurately, and must be familiar with Associated Press style. The person must be able to gather information through research, using Company websites, PowerPoint presentations, speeches and other written materials provided by the Company as well as from external sources. Other skills include ability to conduct interviews in person or on the telephone and be flexible about receiving feedback and input from multiple sources and incorporating it into the work product.
Governmental Relations: Seek an individual with a working knowledge of politics through legislative work and/or campaigns. Candidate must have strong writing skills, the ability to analyze campaign finance data, interact with public officials. Desired skills sets include the ability to spot trends in political news coverage, identify opportunities for communicating the Company’s positions to public officials, and possess basic information gathering techniques to conduct research and/or analysis of issues as needed.
Salary/Benefits: Undergraduate, graduate and/or MBA-level interns will receive a salary ranging from $2500 to $5500/month for the duration of their contract. Salary will be based on education level and prior work experience. Internships will last 8 -16 weeks, and each intern will have with a specific manager/mentor assigned to them.
