I remember the first time I heard this song. I was in the 3rd grade and was at a classmate’s birthday party at a roller rink. The normal light pop/R&B roller rink songs had been playing, so when “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana started blaring out of the speakers, it was like a jolt of electricity. I didn’t know what in the HELL they were saying (and really only learned a few years ago), but from the very beginning of the song when Kurt Cobain was strumming the main riff on his guitar, I was hooked. The energy of this song is incredible, and whenever I need to get hype (for a workout, job interview, presentation, date, lol) this is one of the songs that gets heavy rotation on my iPod.
Y’all don’t know nothin’ about this.
